A gorgeous sapphire and diamond halo ring from the Victorian (ca1890) era! This beautiful 18kt gold ring features a large natural Ceylon sapphire cabochon framed at the center of a sparkling diamond border. The beautiful no-heat sapphire is bezel set and weighs approximately 16.50ctw, displaying incredible pale blue hues that catch the light with every turn in its open back setting. Encircling the sapphire is a single row of sparkling old Mine Cut diamonds collectively weighing approximately 2.00ctw and display H-L range color and VS-SI range clarity. The prongs that hold each diamond create a gorgeous scalloped wirework design below the centerpiece and a polished gold band graduates towards the back. Accompanying the ring is a certification (report #5784-0885) from a British company, Gemmological Certification Services, verifying the center stone as a natural sapphire originating in Ceylon with no indications of heating. A beautiful Victorian piece, it is perfect to mark a special occasion, or it would make a stunning gemstone engagement ring!

Measurements: The ring has a finger size 8, but could be easily be re-sized. The centerpiece measures 3/4" tall and wide and the ring rests about 1/2" above the finger when worn. The gold band measures 1.8mm wide at the back.

Condition: The overall condition of the ring is excellent. Besides normal surface wear, there is no apparent damage to the gold setting and the sapphire and diamonds are intact and securely set.
