A wonderful charm from the Retro (ca1940) era! Made of 19kt yellow and white gold, this delightful charm portrays a farmer man with a simplified 3-dimensional design. The man is shown carrying a shoulder yolk, from which hang two square cut sapphires in bezel settings. Channel set rubies line the length of the yolk and a small white pearl, topped with a gold nón lá hat, represents the farmer's head. The charm hangs from a simple jump ring attached to the tip of the hat. The underside of the yolk as well as the jump ring are marked with a series of Portuguese hallmarks, which indicate the piece was crafted in Porto after 1938 in .800 gold. A very whimsical and creative piece, it would look wonderful worn on a gold chain and is perfect for any vintage charm collector!
Measurements: The charm hangs 1 1/8" long (including the ring for hanging) and has a 7/8" wingspan.
Condition: The overall condition of the charm is excellent. Besides normal surface wear, there is no apparent damage to the gold setting or jump ring for hanging an all of the stones are intact and securely set.
