Victorian 15k Moonstone Etruscan Wirework Pin/Pendant

A wonderful Etruscan convertible pin/pendant from the Victorian (ca1880) era! Crafted in 15kt yellow gold, this beautiful piece features a shield-shaped frame surrounding a gorgeous large moonstone at its center. The moonstone cabochon displays a lovely iridescent quality, with soft pale white flashes that catch the light when worn. The stone is bezel-set and decorating the frame is fine Etruscan beading and wirework detail, forming intricate scrolling lines. Additional delicate Etruscan wirework details can be found on the hinged bail, which can fold behind the frame when worn as a pin. A hidden pin stem rests at the back and is held secure with a simple c-catch. Marvelous and classically Victorian, this stunning pin/pendant would make a special addition to any collection!

Measurements: The piece measures approximately 1 3/4" long, 2 1/8" long with the bail, 1 3/8" wide, and 5/8" thick.

Condition: The overall condition of the piece is excellent. Besides normal surface wear, there is no apparent damage to the gold setting, Etruscan wirework details, or moonstone, which is intact and securely set. The bail and pin backing are secure and in great condition.
