JR WOOD & SONS Early Victorian 14k Four Stone Opal Ring

SKU: 46695

$695
A gorgeous opal ring made in the early Victorian (ca1850) era by the maker JR Wood & Sons! This beautiful piece is crafted in 14kt yellow gold and adorns a row of four opal cabochons, which were most likely mined in Hungary, that line the front. All four prong-set stones display a stunning iridescent quality that flashes in the light and vivid colors which include vibrant shades of blue, green, and deep violet. The gold band and settings are quite simple, with small gold tabs capping the centerpiece on each side. The shank is stamped with "XXX" and a sideways W, which was an early hallmark for JR Wood & Sons. A delicate and feminine ring, it would make a special everyday piece that could be worn alone stacked with other rings!

Measurements: The ring has a finger size of 6.75, but could be re-sized if desired.

Condition: The overall condition of the ring is excellent. Besides normal surface wear, there is no apparent damage to the gold setting, and all four opals are intact and securely set.
