Condition varies, and we describe each watch honestly, noting whether it is running at the time of listing. Antique movements often benefit from a professional service. We recommend having any vintage watch checked by a qualified watchmaker to keep it running well.

What is a hunter-case pocket watch?

A hunter-case pocket watch has a hinged metal cover that snaps shut over the dial to protect it. Half-hunter cases have a small window in the cover to read the time. Both styles are prized for their engraving and mechanical charm.

Can an antique pocket watch be worn or displayed today?

Absolutely. Pocket watches can be worn with a chain and fob, kept as a desk or pocket piece, or displayed on a stand. We can suggest a period-appropriate chain or fob from our collection to complete the look.
