What does estate jewelry mean?

Estate jewelry means previously owned jewelry, regardless of age. A piece can be antique, vintage, or nearly new and still be called estate. The term describes the fact that the piece has had a prior owner, not a specific era or style.

Is estate jewelry the same as antique jewelry?

Not exactly. Antique jewelry is generally 100 years old or older, while estate simply means previously owned and can include modern pieces. All antique jewelry is estate, but not all estate jewelry is antique. We label each piece so the difference is clear.

Why buy estate jewelry?

Estate pieces often offer better craftsmanship and value than comparable new jewelry, along with the individuality of a piece with history. Buying estate also gives established designs a second life. Every piece here is vetted, condition-graded, and authenticity guaranteed.

Do you buy estate jewelry as well as sell it?

A. Brandt + Son has bought and sold antique and estate jewelry since 1988. If you have pieces you are considering selling, you can schedule an appointment at our Narberth salon or reach out to talk with the family directly about what you have.
