A gorgeous and unique rock crystal pendant from the Art Deco (ca1920) era! Traditionally known as a "Pool of Light", this beautiful piece is comprised of a smooth dangling rock crystal sphere, which is set within a four sided sterling silver frame that wraps vertically along the circumference. An etched wheat design lines the surface of each silver band and two floral motifs cap the top and bottom of the caged frame. The rock crystal orb moves freely within the sterling frame and a large twisted rope bail at the top makes it easy to hang from a sterling chain. Pools of Light crystals have a striking appearance when worn, and this large sized pendant is a particularly stunning example. A very versatile everyday piece, it would make a fabulous addition to any collection!
Measurements: The rock crystal "Pool of Light" pendant, including its sterling frame, has a 1" diameter and hangs 1 7/8" long.
Condition: The pendant remains in overall good antique condition. Besides normal surface wear, there is no serious damage to the sterling setting or bail, which is intact. The rock crystal orb has an internal fracture and some surface wear, including a chip, however, due to the caged design, the damage is hardly noticeable when worn.
