A striking pair of earrings from the Georgian (ca1750s) era! Crafted in sterling silver, these heavily patinaed earrings have an elaborate closed-back design encrusted with glinting Rose Cut diamonds weighing an approximate collective 2ctw. The ornate floral design is comprised of swirling leaves and potted flowers with marquise-shaped dangling details. 18kt yellow gold European wires secure the pair to the wearer's ears, and they frame the face beautifully. This magnificent pair would look phenomenal worn at a special event, and they would be an excellent addition to a Georgian collection!
Measurements: The earrings hang 3 3/4" long including the earring wires and 15/16" at their widest point.
Condition: The earrings are in excellent condition. Besides normal surface wear, there is no apparent damage to the sterling silver setting. There is a natural patina on the surface of the silver setting, which is normal for Georgian-era jewelry, and adds to its beauty and unique appearance. The gold earring wires are secure and in good working condition.
