An exceptional micro mosaic bracelet from the Victorian (ca1880) era! Made of vibrant 15kt gold, this slim bangle displays an incredible micro mosaic design on one side, and an Etruscan wirework motif on the other. The micro mosaic craftsmanship is spectacular, comprised of tiny tiles with vivid colors that have been meticulously hand set. The resulting image is a pattern of flowers and leaves that rest above vivid turquoise and rust colored backgrounds. Each mosaic representation is so fine that the images almost look like paintings!
A fine Etruscan wirework motif is applied to the bracelet's reverse side, complete with flowing swirls of detail that provide exceptional texture. A delicate beadwork border lines the top and the bottom edges, the perfect finishing touch. The double-sided design makes the bracelet reversible, allowing the wearer to decide which side will face front. It opens and shuts with a hinged push clasp at the side. A truly fantastic example of fine micro mosaic and Etruscan work, this outstanding bracelet is quite a special antique treasure. It could be worn alone, or paired with other complimentary bangles for a fashionable stacked look!
Measurements: The interior of the bracelet (where a wrist would rest) measures 2 1/4" wide and 2" tall. It would fit nicely on a medium/average sized wrist. The surface of the bracelet measures approximately 1/4" wide and 1/8" thick.
Condition: The overall condition of the bracelet is excellent. Besides normal surface wear, there is no apparent damage to the gold setting or to the hinged clasp, which is secure and in good working condition. The mosaic tiles remain intact and in good condition.
