Victorian Large Gunmetal Mirrored Locket
SKU:36824A
A fabulous gunmetal locket from the Victorian period (ca1880). This unusual piece is particularly large in size and made of gunmetal, forming a round locket. The gunmetal has a wonderful dark matte finish and the piece has a striking look when worn. A small push button clasp rests at the top of the locket which allows the front to open and reveal a mirror on one side and a shallow, covered compartment on the other side. There is a round bail at the top, allowing you to attach the piece to a long, complimentary chain and the interior is stamped "REAL GUNMETAL". A very unique piece, it would look fabulous hanging from a long chain and would make a beautiful addition to any collection!
Measurements: The locket hangs a little longer than 2 1/4" long, is 1 5/8 at the widest point and 1/2" thick.
Condition: The overall condition of the locket is excellent. Besides normal surface wear, there is no serious damage to the locket and the piece opens easily and stays securely closed. Both the mirror and the interior compartment are in good working condition.
