Victorian Sterling Natural Pavé Seed Pearl Teardrop Earrings

An unusual pair of pearl earrings from the Victorian (ca1880) era! Crafted in sterling silver, the earrings have a lovely dangling design. A teardrop link hangs at the base, swinging freely below an elongated surmount. Delicate natural seed pearls cover the entire surface of each earring, forming a fine "pavé" setting. Each pearl has a soft, creamy color and shimmery natural luster. The pearls are each carefully hand strung on fine thread, which is woven to create a mesh pattern. Additional seed pearls decorate the round toppers above. At the top are clasped earring wires, which complete the design. When worn, the earrings frame the face beautifully, dangling with lovely movement! Their lady-like appearance is quite unique, and would make a special addition to any antique jewelry collection.
Measurements: The earrings hang 2 3/8" long, including the clasped wires at the top. The teardrop links measure about 1" tall and are 5/16" wide and thick at the base. The round toppers are 1/4" in diameter. Each individual seed pearl measures about 1mm in size.
Condition: The overall condition of the earrings is excellent. Besides normal surface wear, there is no apparent damage to the sterling silver setting, or clasped earring wires. The seed pearls vary slightly in size and shape, due to their natural characteristics. All of the pearls are intact and securely strung. There is a natural patina on the surface of the silver setting, which is normal for antique jewelry.
