A stunning diamond and crystal necklace from the Art Deco (ca1920) era! Crafted in 14k white gold, this beautiful piece is comprised of an oval shaped crystal pendant, which is held within a beautiful filigree teardrop shaped frame. At the center is a sparkling accent diamond, which is box-set and riveted securely through the surface of the crystal. On the back of the rock crystal is a pattern of carved rays, which show through to the front as a beautiful starburst motif. The ornate framework is beautifully detailed, with delicate filigree wirework, fine milgrain detail, and light etchings. The pendant hangs from a filigree bail. Stamped on the back of the bail is a "14K" stamp and "ESEMCO" hallmark (used by the Shipman Manufacturing Jewelry Company, INC.) during the turn of the century. This beautiful Art Deco necklace would make a beautiful addition to any antique jewelry collection!
Measurements: The pendant hangs 1 3/4" in total length (including the bail at the top), measures 5/8" wide, and 1/8" thick.
Condition: The overall condition of the necklace is excellent. Besides normal surface wear, there is no apparent damage to the white gold setting or filigree wirework. The crystal plaque is free of chips or scratches, and the accent diamond is intact and securely set. There is no damage to the bail, which is in good working condition.
