A fantastic gold, onyx, and carnelian pin from the Art Deco (ca1920) era! This fabulous pin is made of 14kt yellow gold, and is comprised of carved carnelian and onyx stones. At the center of the pin is a long, oval-shaped carnelian link with a cut-out center and squared off edges. Set at each side of the carnelian center is a hexagonal shaped black onyx stone. Resting in the center of each hexagon is a round carnelian ring. The carnelian and onyx shapes are held together by yellow gold prongs, which are flat and wrap around the middle of the carnelian circles and hug the eyes of the onyx hexagons and carnelian oval. The back of the pin has a 14kt yellow gold base with a long bar pin attached, and the clasp of the pin is stamped "14K." A unique and attractive piece, this lovely pin has a wonderful geometric design and a very Art Deco look. It would make a perfect addition to any collection!
Measurements: The pin measures 2 1/8" wide, slightly more than 1/2" at its tallest point, and is approximately 1/4" at its thickest point (not including the pin back).
Condition: The overall condition of the pin is excellent. Besides normal surface wear, there is no apparent damage to the gold setting or to the carnelian and onyx. The bar pin fastens securely and is in good working condition.
