A gorgeous pair of urn earrings from the late Art Deco (ca1930) era! Crafted in sterling silver with gilded accents, these fabulous earrings are relatively substantial in length. Each earrings forms the shape of an urn, which hangs from a delicate chain and round surmount. The urn boasts a lovely brushed surface, while a soft, gilded embellishment graces the curved handles and neck, creating a subtle two-tone appeal. The chain link that connects the urn to the domed topper allows the earrings to dangle with lovely movement. Resting at the back of the surmount is a simple earring post and back, with one stamped "925" beside a "DY" maker's mark. Stamped on the back of the urn is a hallmark, and three decorative cut-outs that reveal its hollow design, making them lightweight and comfortable to wear. Perfect day or night, these incredible earring would make a fabulous statement when worn!
Measurements: Each earring hangs approximately 2 7/8" long, and measures a little more than 3/4" wide, and a little more than 1/4" thick.
Condition: The overall condition of the earrings is excellent. Besides normal surface wear, there is no apparent damage to sterling silver gilt setting. The earrings posts and backs are secure and in good working condition.
