Art Deco Sterling Silver Onyx Pools Of Light Chain Necklace 31"

A fantastic and unusual necklace from the Art Deco (ca1920s) era! Traditionally known as "Pools of Light", this beaded necklace is comprised of 10 smooth onyx orbs, which are each surrounded by a gorgeous sterling frame. The sterling orbs display a deep black hue, which wonderfully contrasts the sterling setting. Each sterling frame features delicate engravings, which incorporate floral and foliage-motifs. The orbs are connected by delicate chain, which is comprised of alternating pearls and ellipse-shaped links. The ellipse-shaped links are adorned with interior scrolling wirework. The necklace secures with a spring ring clasp, but could easily be slide on and off overhead. The chain and wire bezels have a natural patina that gives the silver a darkened antique look. Pools of Light have a striking appearance when worn, and this necklace is a particularly stunning example. It would make a gorgeous addition to any collection!

Measurements: The entire length of the necklace measures 31" long. Each "Pool of Light" orb has a diameter of approximately 1/2".

Condition: The overall condition of this necklace is excellent. The sterling chain and spring ring clasp are secure and in working order. Besides normal surface wear, there is no apparent damage or scratches to any of the onyx orbs or to the sterling silver settings which secure them. All of the pearls are intact and free from any apparent damage.
