Art Deco Sterling Silver Square Cut Crystal Festoon Necklace

A gorgeous festoon-style crystal necklace from the Art Deco (ca1920s) era! This elegant piece is crafted in sterling silver and comprised of an array of square-cut faceted crystals that connect at their corners to create a striking bib design. Each crystal is faceted on both sides, intensifying their light-reflecting quality for an incredible sparkling effect. They're held by small prongs, their open sterling silver frames displaying a subtle foliate motif on the side and allowing the light to beautifully pass through. The necklace secures with a spring-ring marked "STERLING".  A simply stunning piece, it would make a fabulous addition to any jewelry collection!

Measurements: The necklace measures 19" in total length. Each crystal measures 5/16" wide and tall and the festoon drop measures 2 1/4" long at the center.

Condition: The overall condition of this necklace is excellent. Besides normal surface wear, there is no apparent damage to the sterling setting or to any of the crystals, and the clasp is secure and in good working condition. There is a natural patina on the sterling silver setting, typical of aged silver. While this could be removed, it adds a beautiful dimension to the piece against the clear crystals.
