A stunning amethyst ring from the Art Nouveau (ca1900) era! The artistic ring is crafted in 14k yellow gold, and features an oval cut amethyst stone. The prong-set amethyst features a hand-carved flower motif, and the stone displays a stunning deep purple hue. The shoulders of the ring are adorned with repousse detailing, which incorporates both scrolling and floral motifs. The back of the band is smooth and simple, and the inside of the shank is stamped with an "F" maker's mark, and a "14K" purity mark. A truly spectacular example of Art Nouveau-era craftsmanship, this ring would make a lovely addition to any antique jewelry collection!
Measurements: The ring has a finger size of 7.75, but could be resized. When worn, the amethyst stone rests about 1/2" above the finger. The tapered band measures 1.65mm wide.
Condition: The overall condition of the ring is excellent. Besides normal surface wear, there is no apparent damage to the gold setting or repousse detailing. The amethyst stone is secure and free of any chips or damage.
