An absolutely exquisite platinum and diamond pin/fur clips from the Art Deco (ca1920) era! This wonderful and unusual piece is made of platinum and encrusted with 3.51 carats of sparkling diamonds. Comprised of 2 fur clips that are secured within an 18kt white gold brooch carrier, you have the option to wear the piece as either 2 stunning clips or as a single pin. It has a wonderful 3-dimensional design and includes 2 nice sized round stones that rest in the center (approximately 0.88ct total weight), 72 single cut diamonds, 21 old Mine Cuts and 4 baguettes. The back of the piece reveals the white gold brooch carrier which has a very secure pin clasp and safety chain for added security. The 2 fur clips clamp onto this custom made carrier to form the pin and unclamp easily, if desired, to wear as fur clips. Each clip has a single 'tooth' on the back which helps to secure the clips to a fur collar, jacket or shirt. The piece was appraised by an independent Gemologist in September 2010 and has a stated retail replacement value of $15,500.00. It's a magnificent piece and would make a great addition to any collection!
Measurements: As a pin, the piece measures approximately 2 1/4" wide, 1 1/8" tall and has a depth of a little less than 1/4". When broken into 2 fur clips, each clip measures approximately 1 1/8" at the widest point, 1 1/8" tall and is a little less than 1/4" thick.
Condition: The overall condition of the pin/fur clips is excellent. There is no apparent damage to platinum setting or to the gold carrier. All of the diamonds are intact and the carrier, clasp and safety chain are all secure and in good working condition.
