An absolutely fantastic horseshoe pendant necklace from the Edwardian (ca1910) era! Crafted in 18kt rosy gold and topped in platinum, the stunning piece is particularly large in size and has a sparkling jewel encrusted surface. Depicting the shape of a wide horseshoe, the piece adorns 31 graduated French Cut sapphires, which are round-shaped and beautifully faceted. Collectively, the sapphire stones weigh approximately 2ctw and display a striking, vivid blue color. Surrounding the open backed sapphires are 57 sparkling old Rose Cut diamonds, which have an overall weight of approximately .90ctw, forming a stunning border along the inside and outside of the entire piece. The horseshoe pendant hangs from an 18kt yellow gold chain which is secured by a barrel clasp. A real beauty, this outstanding necklace would make an incredible addition to any collection!
Measurements: The entire length of the necklace measures 9 1/2" long. The horseshoe itself measures 1 3/4" tall, approximately 1 1/4" wide, and 3/8" thick.
Condition: The overall condition of the horseshoe pendant necklace is excellent. Besides normal surface wear, there is no apparent damage to the gold and platinum setting or to the diamond and sapphire stones, all of which are intact. The chain and clasp are secure and in good working condition.
