fob is an adornment or a seal that hangs from the ribbon or chain of a pocket watch. Its purpose is to decorate or add weight to the watch chain itself making it easier for the watch to be withdrawn from a pocket. The fob would have been used to seal the wax of a letter or note.

A beautiful and ornate fob pendant necklace from the Georgian (ca1750s) era! Crafed in 18k and 14k yellow gold, this necklace begins with a length braided rope chain. The chain secures with a simple spring ring clasp, which is stamped "MILOR", "14K", and "ITALY". The chain is accompanied by 2, oblong fobs. The fobs vary slightly in shape, but are both decorated with royal blue enameling. The enameling depicts floral, foliage, and geometric-motifs. One fob features a watch key, and the other features a pyramid-shaped bottom. The fobs are also decorated with swirling-motif engravings. Each fob features a complimentary bail, which allows the pendants to easily slide along the braided chain. A one-of-a-kind pendant necklace, this piece would blend seamlessly into any Georgian-era jewelry collection!

Measurements: The chain has a total length of 36". Each fob has a length of 1" (including the bails) and a width of just over 1/4".

Condition: The overall condition of the pendant necklace is excellent. There is no apparent damage to the chain, and the spring ring clasp is secure and in working order. Both fobs are securely attached. The enameling shows signs of wear commensurate with the piece's age.
