A rare and fabulous pencil fob from the Late Victorian (ca1890) era! This stunning piece is crafted in 14k rose gold and consists of a screw motif containing a hidden pencil. At the tip of this excellent fob pendant is a mechanical pencil hidden inside of a unique retractable design. The screw features a textured tip and a flathead topper, which can be twisted to extend the pencil. The pendant is smoothly polished, allowing the rich rose gold surface to shine, and is secured with a simple bail on the body of the screw stamped with a "585" purity mark. Perfect for hanging from a favorite chain, this one-of-a-kind pendant would make an wonderful addition to any collection!
Measurements: The entire piece hangs just over 2" long and measures about 3/8" in diameter at the head and just under 1/4" wide at the body. When the pencil is revealed, the pendant measures 2 1/4" long.
Condition: The overall condition of the piece is excellent. Besides normal surface wear, there is no apparent damage to the rose gold setting. The retractable mechanism of the pencil moves smoothly and securely. The original pencil tip is worn and the bail is secure and in good working order.
