Los Castillo was a Mexican jewelry company formed by 4 brothers: Don Antonio, Jorge, Miguel, and Justo Castillo, in the late 1930's. All were trained in different areas of the silver business and Don Antonio Castillo was an apprentice for William Spratling's Las Delicias workshop in the early 1930's. Los Castillo is known for beautiful craftsmanship and their revival of ancient techniques.
This fabulous bracelet from the Retro (ca1940s) era is wonderful signed piece by Los Castillo! Crafted in sterling silver, brass, and copper, the center of this bracelet features a large centerpiece. The centerpiece is decorated with an abstract design, which incorporates inlaid turquoise, sterling silver, copper, and black enameling. The band of the bracelet features three distinct rows, which each highlight one of the three metals which comprises the piece. The bracelet secures with a simple push clasp. The backside of the centerpiece is marked with the Los Castillo signature, "Made in Mexico", and a "63". A great mixed metals piece, this bracelet would make a great addition to any collection!
Measurements: The inside of the bracelet (where a wrist would rest) measures 2 1/2" wide and 2 1/8" tall.
Condition: The overall condition of the bracelet is excellent. There is no damage to the sterling, brass, copper, enameling, or inlaid turquoise. The push clasp is secure and in working order.
