Victorian 14k Carved Putti Coral Cherub Pin

A wonderful and artistic angel pin from the Victorian (ca1880) era! This beautiful piece is made of natural Mediterranean coral and has an exquisite hand carved design. The pin depicts a cherub angel lying on a lightly folded blanket, and is multi dimensional with finely carved features ranging from textured hair to detailed nostrils and fingers and toes. Decorating the angel's back is a pair of wings and an empty quiver. The natural coral displays a wonderful salmon color with subtle shades of white. On the back of the piece is a 14k gold bar pin. This impressive pin is magnificent in person, and would make an outstanding addition to any antique collection!
Measurements: The pin measures 2" long, 3/4" at its widest point, and 1/2" thick.
Condition: The overall condition of the pin is excellent. Besides minimal normal surface wear, there is no serious damage to the carved coral and the pin clasp is secure and in good working condition.
