An absolutely stunning enameled opal bracelet from the Victorian (ca1880) era! Crafted in 14k yellow gold, this gorgeous features vibrant opals set in in an enameled mounting. The opal cabochons rest in open prong setting and exhibit stunning shades of green, blue, violet, and yellow, all of which flash beautifully when caught in the light. The front surface of the bangle around the opal is decorated with striking navy blue enamel, perfectly complimenting the colorful opals. Flanking the stones are floral enamel designs and small cutouts, accenting the colorful centerpiece. The bracelet is hinged on one side of the centerpiece, and fastens at a small push clasp at the other side, with a safety clasp for extra security. The reverse side of the bangle is an open frame which tapers slightly towards the back, keeping the bracelet lightweight and breathable. Stamped on the tongue of the push clasp is a "14k" purity mark. Whether worn alone or paired with other bangles, this bracelet would look stunning worn day or night!
Measurements: The inside of the bracelet (where a wrist would rest) measures approximately 2 3/8" wide and 1 7/8" tall, and would fit nicely on an average to large sized wrist. The opal and enamel centerpiece measures about 3 1/8" wide, 3/8" tall, and is about 1/4" tall. The surface of the bracelet at the back measures about 1/4" wide and is a little less than 1/8" thick.
Condition: The overall condition of the bracelet is excellent. Besides normal surface wear, there is no apparent damage to the gold setting or enameled surface. All of the opals are intact and securely set. The push clasp and safety are secure and in good working condition.
