Victorian 15k Diamond Enameled Etruscan Plaque Locket Pendant

A gorgeous enameled diamond locket pendant from the Victorian (ca1880) era! This marvelous piece is crafted in vibrant 15k yellow gold and features incredible 3-dimensional detail. At the center of the piece is an oval-shaped centerpiece which adorns a blue enameled starburst accented with a single rose cut diamond. The raised centerpiece is bordered with a line of braided wire flanked by small gold beads. A raised section surrounding the centerpiece is decorated with intricate Etruscan bead and wirework. This section rests on a pointed oval frame, which is detailed with scrolling elements and framed along each edge with gold beadwork. On the back of the piece is a removable cloth-backed glass frame locket, perfect for storing a special memento or keepsake inside. Completing the design is a simple bail attached at the top of the pendant. Measurements: The pendant hangs approximately 2 1/8" long, including the bail and measures just over 1 1/2" wide and 1/2" deep. The locket space on the back measures approximately 1 1/4" long and just under 1" wide. 

Condition: The overall condition of the pendant is excellent. Besides normal surface wear, there is no apparent damage to the gold setting or Etruscan beadwork and the diamond is secure and intact. The removable glass frame on the back is intact and the bail at the top is secure and in good working order.
