A spectacular diamond starburst from the Victorian (ca1880) era! This gorgeous piece is made of 14kt gold topped in sterling silver. The diamond-encrusted surface features a combination of mine cut and rose cut diamonds, all of which are bead set in sterling silver. Twelve rays emerge from the center of the starburst, each lined with sparkling diamonds that surround the largest stone at the center. Collectively, the diamonds weigh approximately 3.00ctw combined. On the back of the piece is a hidden bail, perfect for hanging the piece from the included silver rolo chain or your favorite chain of choice, and a pin backing with a c-catch and a key screw, allowing the pin back to be removed. One arm of the starburst is marked with "No. 5". This celestial piece is perfect for special occasions, and serves as a stunning example of Victorian starburst jewelry!
Measurements: The starburst has just under a 1 1/4" diameter, and its concave surface measures approximately 2/5" in depth.
Condition: The overall condition of the piece is excellent. Besides normal surface wear, there is no apparent damage to the sterling-topped gold setting. All of the diamonds are intact and securely set. The hidden bail is securely attached on the back and the pin back's screw is in good working order. There is a natural patina on the surface of the setting, which is a normal characteristic of antique jewelry.
