This impeccable cameo pin is a hand-carved piece from the Victorian (ca1880) era! Crafted in 18k yellow gold, this pin/brooch features a large oval-shaped agate cameo. The cameo, which is held within a gold bezel setting, depicts the beautiful side portrait of a young woman. The cameo is highly-detailed, and the woman is depicted wearing a headband, circular earrings, and loosely draped garments. Her hair is held within a loose updo, and her tousled curls drape down her back. Her expression is neutral, as she looks off into the distance. The cameo is bordered by an intricate frame, which is composed of leaf-like chains that intertwine and encircle the central cameo. The back of the pin features a simple pin clasp. A substantial cameo, this pin/brooch would make a lovely addition to any Victorian collection!
Measurements: The pin/brooch is 1 1/2" wide and 1 3/4" tall. The piece has a depth of 3/8".
Condition: The overall condition of the pin/brooch is excellent. Besides normal surface wear, there is no apparent damage to the gold setting, and the agate cameo is secure and intact. The pin clasp is in working order.
