A spectacular diamond heart pendant from the Victorian (ca1880s) era! Crafted in 18kt yellow gold and topped with sterling silver, this fantastic piece is adorned with approximately 1.50ctw of glittering old Rose Cut diamonds. The heart-shaped pendant, which is open in the center, is portrayed by a floral design with four flowers and curling leaves. Two diamond-encrusted tassels dangle within the heart's frame, hinged to the base to gently swing as the pendant is moved. The substantial piece hangs from a matching diamond bail, making it ready to attach to a favorite chain. The back of the bail has a small hallmark that appears to be French; this combined with its age and sterling-topped 18kt gold content makes it likely to be of French origin. An absolutely gorgeous work of art, this pendant would be an incredibly romantic addition to any Victorian collection!
Measurements: The pendant hangs just under 2" long including the bail. It measures slightly less than 1 1/2" wide and 3/16" in depth.
Condition: The pendant is in overall excellent condition. Besides normal surface wear, there is no apparent damage to the silver-topped gold setting. The Rose Cut diamonds are all intact and securely set.
