A stylish and romantic padlock necklace from the Victorian (1867) era! Crafted in 9k rose gold, this English-made piece is a heart shaped lock attached to a simple chain necklace. The smooth surface of the pendant is studded with four "screws" and finished with a keyhole at the center. The lock's shackle can be pulled opened and snapped into place using a lever on the side. Attached at the top of the shackle are two small jump rings to which the chain is attached. Several English hallmarks and purity marks, including "9" and "375" on the shackle, the purity mark and a patent mark along the edge of the lock, and the same purity mark, the letter "M", and the head of a leopard on the back, showing the lock was crafted in 1867 in London. The lock was originally attached to a bracelet but was converted to a pendant and added to a Victorian era chain, which is secured at the back with a simple barrel catch. A fabulous and stylish Victorian piece that blends seamlessly into modern day fashion, it would make a perfect addition to any collection!
Measurements: The pendant measures 3/4" long and 1/2" wide. The chain measures 16" long
Condition: The overall condition of the pendant is excellent. Besides normal surface wear, there is no apparent damage to the gold setting or chain. The padlock shackle and barrel catch are secure and in good working order
