Malocchio is an Italian symbol worn around the world to attract good luck and void off evil from the person wearing it. It's depicted by a hand with the pinky and pointer finger extended, and the rest of the fingers remaining on the palm of the hand. Malocchioscan be made of metal, wood, stone or ivory and are traditionally thought to bring good luck only if it is given as a gift.

A wonderful Malocchio pendant/charm from the Victorian (ca1880s) era! Crafted in 9k yellow gold, this carved mother of pearl pendant/charm depicts a hand in the "Malocchio" position, with the pinky and pointer fingers pointing upwards. The mother of pearl displays a lovely milky white luster. The pendant also features a visible shirt cuff at the edge of the charm, and is completed by a complimentary bail. A unique piece, this pendant/charm would make a bold addition to any antique jewelry collection!

Measurements: The pendant hangs approximately 1 1/4" long (including the complimentary bail), and has a width of 1/2".

Condition: The overall condition of the pendant/charm is excellent. Besides normal surface wear, there is no apparent damage to the gold setting or carved mother of pearl. The complimentary bail is intact and in working order.
