A fabulous Baltic amber beaded necklace from the Victorian (ca1880) era! This wonderful piece is comprised of gorgeous mixed yoke amber beads, which come together to form a long and bold strand. The oval-shaped beads graduate in size, exhibiting an opaque quality and wonderful golden hues, including variations of deep orange, rich brown, tobacco, and burnt sienna. Each amber bead is hand strung on clear fishing line and a simple spring ring crafted in base metal can be found at the back. The necklace could be paired with other beaded pieces for a layered look, or worn on its own as a special accessory!
Measurements: The overall length of the necklace measures approximately 25." The graduated beads vary in size, with the largest bead measuring approximately 3/4" wide and 1/2" tall. The smallest bead measures about 3/8" wide and 1/4" tall. In total, the beads have a weight of 24.2 grams.
Condition: The overall condition of the necklace is excellent. A few of the small amber beads have minor chips, which is not uncommon for a piece of this age, and are not noticeable when worn. The remaining beads are all intact and securely strung. The clasp is secure and in good working condition.
