Tax excluded. Shipping calculated at checkout
A lovely and unique equestrian-inspired fob from the Victorian (1880s) era! This bold piece is comprised of a substantial horse hoof link hand carved from Jet which hangs from an ornate gold-filled topper. The die struck surmount adorns elegant flourishes and an open center, and the rich black horse hoof has a wonderful textured surface. The bottom of the hoof, which would've also been used as a seal, displays the hand carved image of a horse in profile, framed by a horseshoe border. The piece is ready to be paired with a favorite chain and would make for a wonderful addition to any equestrian or fob collection!
Measurements: The overall length of the fob is 2 1/4". The Jet horse hoof measures approximately 1" tall and 5/8" at its widest point. The gold-filled topper measures about 7/8" by 7/8".
Condition: The fob is in overall good antique condition. Besides normal surface wear, the Jet horseshoe does not show any serious damage. The gold-filled topper shows slight signs of wear, commensurate with age, but this does not detract from its overall beauty.
