An absolutely exquisite bangle bracelet from the Victorian (ca1880s) era! This gold-filled bangle features both elaborate enameling and engravings! One half of the bangle features deep black enameling, which depicts blooming floral and foliage-motifs. The other half of the bangle features delicate engravings, which include floral, foliage, and texturing accents. The piece is hinged, and opens and closes with a concealed push clasp. The bracelet is further secured by a safety chain. The tongue of the push clasp is marked: "SEPT. 14, 80" and "PAT 'D". A fabulous and elegant piece, this bangle would make a lovely addition to any Victorian-era jewelry collection!
Measurements: The inside of the bracelet (where a wrist would rest) measures 2 1/8" wide and 1 3/4" tall. The surface of the bracelet measures 3/8" wide.
Condition: The overall condition of the bracelet is excellent. Besides normal surface wear, there is no apparent damage to the hinged gold filled setting or enameling. The clasp and safety chain are both secure and in working order.
