These fantastic earrings are French in origin and were made by the company Bressans, located in the city of Bourg en Bresse. Bressans has been making beautiful enameled jewelry since 1850 and they work with French 800 silver and 18kt yellow gold, creating wonderful, vibrant and unique designs.
These earrings are a beautiful example of the the Bressans fine craft! Gold filled, we estimate the date of these wonderful earrings as ca1880s. With a fabulous design, each begins with a round surmount which attaches to a simple earring wire. Just below the round surmount is a diamond shaped topper, that incorporates vibrant red and white hues, and a green paste stone is set in the center. Hanging below is a pill-shaped link which features turquoise enamel tones, gold detailing, and a red paste stone. The lowest graduating link is teardrop in shape, and features black enamel, with a topping floral design, and another red paste stone. The earrings also feature tassel dangles, which further add to the elegant nature of the piece. Both earring wires are stamped with "1/20 14k" hallmarks, indicating that the earrings are crafted in 14k gold fill. Extremely light in weight, the earrings are very comfortable to wear and would make an excellent addition to any collection!
Measurements: The earrings hang approximately 2 1/4" long, are 3/4" at the widest point and 1/8" thick.
Condition: The overall condition of the earrings is excellent. The enamel has no visible damages of damage, and the earrings are in great condition.
