A magnificent banded agate pendant from the Victorian (ca1880) era! Made of 15kt yellow gold (which indicates that it is of English origin), the pendant is oval in shape and particularly large in size. A wonderful banded agate stone rests in the center of a marvelous bezel setting which has an intricately detailed Etruscan ball and wirework pattern. The piece hangs from a large hinged fluted bail and would look fantastic worn hanging from a long gold chain. Originally worn as a pin, the piece has since been converted into a pendant. This large, eye catching piece has a fabulous look that would make a perfect addition to any jewelry collection!
Measurements: The pendant hangs 3" long, is 1 7/8" wide and approximately 1/2" thick.
Condition: The overall condition of the pendant is excellent. Besides normal surface wear, there is no apparent damage to the gold setting or to the banded agate stone, which is intact. The bail is intact and in good condition.
