A fabulous and unusual banded agate pendant from the Victorian (ca1880) era! This stunning gold filled piece is relatively large in size and adorns a bold oval-shaped banded agate cabochon at the center. The smoothly polished stone exhibits a rich brown black hue, with a gorgeous creamy white line that trails across the front. The bezel set stone is surrounded by a border of 19 smaller agate stones that decorate the entire edge, forming a stunning and unique scalloped design. The smaller agates display a creamy white base with a brown black tip, adding a wonderful color contrast to the large center stone. Finishing the design is a smoothly polished back and a large fluted bail at the top, perfect for adding to a favorite chain. A bold and unique piece, it would look stunning worn day or night!
Measurements: The pendant hangs approximately 2 1/4" long, including the bail at the top, and measures about 1 1/2" wide, and about 5/8" thick.
Condition: The overall condition of the pendant is excellent. Besides normal surface wear, there is no serious damage to the gold filled setting or to the banded agate stones, all of which are intact and securely set. The bail is secure and in good working condition.
