A stunning Scottish agate brooch from the Victorian (ca1880s) era! This gorgeous piece is crafted in sterling silver and depicts a lovely twisting knot-motif. The surface of the knot features 6 oblong slices of Scottish agate, which are bezel-set. The agate stones range in color, and incorporate gray, slate blue, mossy brown, and maroon-hues. The remaining sterling silver sections of the knot feature intricate engravings, which incorporate scrolling-motifs and wood grain details. The backside of the piece features a pin clasp, which would allow the piece to easily attach to a jacket, blouse, or sweater. A fantastic piece, this brooch would make a bold addition to any antique jewelry collection!
Measurement: The pin measures approximately 2 3/4" wide and 1 5/8" tall.
Condition: The overall condition of this brooch is excellent. There is no apparent damage to the sterling silver setting, and all of the agate stones are intact and free from any chips or noticeable scratches. The pin clasp is secure and in working order.
