A lovely slide chain necklace from the Victorian (ca1880s) era! Crafted in sterling silver, this necklace is comprised of interlocking solo-style links. The chain is accompanied by a diamond-shaped slide mechanism, which is adorned on one side with engraved stripes and foliage-motifs. The backside of the slide features an engraved, stitch-motif border. The base of the lengthy chain features a watch swivel clasp, which would allow the user to attach Victorian-era charms or pendants! Due to the generous length of the piece, the chain necklace does not feature a clasp that would allow the chain to open/close. A versatile piece, this slide chain necklace would look stunning worn alone, or layered with other antique chains!
