A wonderful and unusual signed Theodor Fahrner pin from the late Art Deco (ca1930) era! Made of gilded sterling silver, this fabulous piece is fairly large in size and rectangular in shape. With a convex face, the pin's surface is covered in curled ornate wirework and beadwork design and set in the center is a large smoky topaz stone. The stone is bezel set and has a rich deep brown color with a faceted face and back. Beaming from the center to the four corners of the rectangle are 4 rows of sparkling marcasite stones. The combination of the marcasites, topaz and gilded sterling look absolutely beautiful when worn and the piece looks wonderful when worn. On the back is a secure pin clasp and the underside of the pin is stamped with the Theodor Fahrner "TF" hallmark along with "ORIGINAL FAHRNER" and "925". This pin makes a true statement when worn and would make a lovely addition to any Fahrner collection!
Measurements: The pin measures 1 5/8" widest, 1 3/8" tall and 1/2" deep.
Condition: The overall condition of the pin is excellent. Besides normal surface wear, there is no apparent damage to the silver and the topaz and all of the marcasites are intact. The pin clasp is secure and in good working condition.
