A wonderful pair of English sterling silver and enamel cufflinks from the Victorian (ca1880) era! Each double-sided cufflink is comprised of two oval discs, which feature a charming enamel design with a golf motif. On side shows the silhouette of a golf player in black enamel, depicted in an old-fashioned uniform. The other side shows a golf course in colorful enamel detail represented by green grass, a red flag, and a white golf ball that flies through the air. A strand of silver chain connects the back of each oval disc together. The back of each cufflink is stamped with several hallmarks, including "ENGLAND", "MADE IN ENGLAND," "D & F", an anchor, a lion, and "925". A charming and attractive pair of cufflinks, they are perfect for the golf enthusiast and would look wonderful worn by a man or woman!
Measurements: Each oval cufflink face measures 3/4" tall, slightly more than 1/2" wide, and 1/16" thick. The space in between each cufflink is 7/8" long.
Condition: The overall condition of the cufflinks is excellent. Besides normal surface wear, there is no apparent damage to the sterling setting or enamel work, and the connecting chain is secure and intact.
