A beautiful and unique Art Deco (ca1920s) beaded necklace! This lovely piece features a row of matching smokey rutilated quartz crystal beads, which are hand-strung on black cord. The quartz is a translucent grey with natural needle-like inclusions of black colored rutile that almost appear to "float," as though suspended inside. The variations of rutile within the quartz is fantastic, providing a wonderful eye-catching effect as light passes through the beads. Resting in between each quartz bead is a sandwich of two gold-tone rondels and one green hardstone rondel. The necklace fastens in the back with a push clasp. This unique design is perfect for any rutilated quartz lover, and would make a lovely everyday necklace!
Measurements: The necklace measures approximately 18" long. Each bead averages roughly 4.2mm in diameter
Condition: The overall condition of the necklace is excellent. Besides normal surface wear, there is no apparent damage to the yellow gold-filled beads or to the rutilated quartz beads, all of which are securely strung. The push clasp is secure and in good working condition.
