A lovely Art Deco (ca1920) diamond and sapphire engagement ring! This beautiful piece has a single diamond that rests in the center of a very unique squared mounting. The diamond, which is an old European Cut, has a total weight of 1.97ct and is set in the lovely 20kt white gold setting. Accompanying the ring is a diamond grading report issued by GIA (Gemological Institute of America), giving a full evaluation of the center diamond and certifying that it is of I color and SI2 clarity. The diamond rests in a raised prong setting above the squared centerpiece. Set on each side of the diamond are 4 calibrated sapphires, which are set in milgrained bezel settings. Decorating each corner are 4 full cut diamonds in bead settings weighing a total of 0.10ctw. The ring's tapered band is intricately etched with a scrolling floral motif, which branches off and crosses over at the shoulders to form a unique helical shape. The unusual design of the ring is simply wonderful and the ring looks striking when worn. It is an absolutely beautiful ring and would make a stunning engagement ring!
Measurements: The ring is a finger size 6.25 but could be resized. When worn, the ring sits approximately 1/4" above the finger.
Condition: The overall condition of the ring is excellent. Besides normal surface wear, there is no apparent damage to the gold setting or to the diamonds or the sapphire stones, all of which are intact and securely set.
