An exquisite amethyst ring from the Art Deco (ca1920) era! Crafted in 14kt yellow gold, this fabulous piece holds a large, faceted, oval shaped amethyst stone at its center. The bezel set stone exhibits a vibrant, purple color, with facets that catch the light beautifully with every turn. Surrounding the stone is a delicate twisted rope border paired with a natural seed pearl outer border, both resting inside of a colorful enameled border featuring swirls of rich black, gold, and gorgeous green hues. The combination is simply stunning and perfectly reflects its Art Deco era. Finishing the design is a border of delicate cutouts on the edge of the mounting, and the centerpiece rests on split-shank shoulders that trails into a smoothly polished band that wraps around the back. The inside of the shank is stamped with a "14K" gold purity mark. This colorful Art Deco ring would make a fabulous statement piece when worn and be a wonderful addition to any collection!
Measurements: The ring has a finger size 7 but could easily be resized. The centerpiece measures about 1" wide, 1 1/4" tall, and rests 5/8" above the finger when worn.
Condition: The overall condition of the ring is excellent. Besides normal surface wear, there is no apparent damage to the gold setting. The amethyst stone and all of the pearls are intact and securely set. There is some very minor surface wear to the enameling, however, it is not noticeable when worn and does distract from the overall beauty of the ring.
