An absolutely exquisite diamond and sapphire ring from the Art Deco (1920) era! This beautiful piece is crafted in platinum and adorns a single sapphire stone resting in the center of a halo of calibrated baguette cut diamonds. The prong set center stone is a natural, unheated Ceylon sapphire and exhibits fantastic cornflower blue color. The sapphire is an oval cut and has a total approximate weight of 3.59ct. The halo, which rests in a wavy channel setting, is comprised of a ring of approximately 1.00ctw of calibrated tapered baguette diamonds, which graduate in size to give the wavy look. A simple polished band, which is stamped with "3.59 pt.900" along with "DO89", continues around to the back, giving the ring a simple yet elegant design. The color of the sapphire is absolutely beautiful and the subtle yet fantastic design looks wonderful on. The ring is accompanied by a GIA Sapphire Origin report, #7406254875, confirming that the center sapphire originated in Sri Lanka and shows no indications of heating. It is a gorgeous ring which could be worn as an everyday piece or would make a unique gemstone engagement ring!
Measurements: The ring has finger size 5.75 but could easily be re-sized.
Condition: The overall condition of the ring is excellent. Besides normal surface wear, there is no apparent damage to the platinum setting and all of the stones are intact and securely set.
