An absolutely gorgeous estate David Webb snake bracelet! This striking piece is made of vibrant 18k yellow gold and graduates in width from the tail to the head. The surface has a wonderful and ornate cross-hatch or knurled design, which represents the snake's scales. The snakes tail curls underneath his grinning mouth when the bracelet is clamped shut, making the traditional "ouroboros" symbol of the snake consuming itself. The ouroboros symbolize death and rebirth, a symbol made popular by the Victorians in the 1800s. The snake's eyes contain two small red garnet cabochons, giving him quite the devious look! The bracelet is hinged at the side, and the underside of the hinge is stamped “WEBB 18K”. This fabulous piece would fit nicely on an average-sized wrist. It has a very strong look and would make a perfect addition to any collection!
Measurement: The surface of the bracelet measures approximately 1/2" at the widest point, while the narrowest part of the tail measures 1/4” wide. The piece is 1/4" at its thickest point. The opening where the wrist would slide through is slightly less than 2 1/4” wide when the hinge is open. The cuff weighs 64.7g.
Condition: The overall condition of this bracelet is excellent. Besides normal surface wear, there is no serious damage to the gold cuff.
