A breathtaking pair of earrings made in the Iberian peninsula in the early Georgian (ca1730s) era! Crafted in 18kt yellow gold, these stunning earrings each begin with a surmount featuring a square cut emerald in a rub-over bezel setting. The emeralds are surrounded by a radiating textured frame lined with scrolling details at the top and bottom of the surmount. Hanging below is a textured pear shaped drop frame holding a rectangle cut emerald in a rub-over bezel, accented with more scrolling detailing. These earrings are absolutely gorgeous and frame the face beautifully as the emerald facets catch the light. Worn with a hidden hinged earring wire, this magnificent pair is a perfect example of Iberian jewelry and would be a beautiful addition to any collection!
Measurements: The earrings hang approximately 1 1/2" when worn and are just over 1/2" wide.
Condition: The earrings are in excellent condition. Besides normal surface wear, there is no apparent damage to the gold settings. All of the emeralds are intact and securely set. The earring wires are secure and lock in place.
