A gorgeous amethyst and diamond ring from the Edwardian (ca1910s) era! Crafted in 18kt gold, this striking piece features a substantial 14ct amethyst held within rose gold prongs. The vibrant, round stone has a vivid, royal purple hue and facets throughout which catch the light beautifully when worn. Ten sparkling old Rose Cut diamonds adorn the sides of the band, each set in a white and yellow gold in a trefoil-like motif, collectively weighing approximately 0.50ctw. The ring finishes at a smoothly polished gold band which is stamped along the inside with an "18K" gold purity mark. An absolutely stunning ring, it makes a gorgeous statement when worn and is perfect for any amethyst lover!
Measurements: The ring has a finger size 6.25 but could easily be resized. The amethyst stone measures approximately 5/8" in diameter and rests a little more than 1/4" above the finger when worn.
Condition: The overall condition of the ring is excellent. Besides normal surface wear, there is no apparent damage to the gold mounting. The amethyst stone and diamonds are all intact and securely set. Due to the hand cut nature of old Rose Cut diamonds, the shape of the stones do not have perfect symmetry. This reflects the age and genuine appearance of the diamonds.
