A simply magnificent Edwardian era (ca1910) locket with fabulous detail! This locket is composed of 18k gold and topped in platinum. The locket boasts a guilloche front with a grey-blue colored enamel, accented with pink roses in the upper half and a relief nude figure of a lady lounging across the bottom in gold. The enameled front also features a bezel set mine cut diamond which weighs approximately .10ctw and symbolizes the sun. The locket's bail is a simple platinum jump ring which is suspended from a platinum-topped frenzy of filigree outfitted with petite rose cut diamonds and "V" of french cut sapphires. The reverse side of the locket is plain, so it could be engraved if desired. The interior of the locket opens to reveal two empty compartments with crystals, just waiting for photos! The interior compartments are hand-engraved with the number "1441". It's an absolutely fabulous and very unusual piece that would make a wonderful addition to any collection!
Measurements: The locket pendant hangs approximately 1 3/8" long and is 1 1/8" wide.
Condition: The overall condition of the pendant locket is excellent. There is no apparent damage to the enameled surface or to the gold or platinum and all of the diamonds and sapphires are intact.
