A wonderful painted porcelain pin from the Victorian (ca1880) era! This lovely piece is comprised of a square porcelain plaque that is held within a 14kt gold bezel setting. The porcelain is hand-painted with the image of a winged cherub, which is depicted in very lifelike detail. The cherub gazes to the side, with its wings spread at its back and its hands arms clasped at its chest. The detail is very fine, including soft curls of blond hair, realistic facial features, and lovely muted colors that decorate the image. It's set in a simple 14kt yellow gold bezel frame with an open back. On the back of the piece is the original c-catch pin clasp. The pin is marked on the back "14". It's a wonderful piece and would make a lovely addition to any collection!
Measurements: The pin measures 1 5/8" wide, 1 3/8" tall, and 3/16" thick.
Condition: The overall condition of the pin is good. There is some normal wear to the painted porcelain image, but it does not detract from the beauty of the piece. The gold bar pin is slightly bent, but fastens securely.
