A fabulous labradorite stick pin from the Victorian (ca1880) era! This unique piece consists of a labradorite devil's head at the top of a 15kt rose gold stick pin. The 3-dimensional carving displays incredible facial features, including two pointed horns, a furrowed brow, and long nose. Two sparkling red garnets represent its eyes, and a long, gold tongue dangles sideways out of a grinning mouth. The labradorite exhibits a marvelous grey-green color, with soft iridescent properties and a smoothly polished finish. When turned in the light, it reveals vivid flashes of color, including bright blue, green, and deep violet. The carving is attached to a long, straight stick pin, with several twisted details at the center. A fantastic antique piece, it would make a special addition to any collection!
Measurements: The stickpin measures 3 3/8" in total length. The carved labradorite devil's head measures 7/8" tall, 1/2" wide, and 3/8" thick.
Condition: The overall condition of the stickpin is excellent. Besides normal surface wear, there is no apparent damage to the gold setting or to the labradorite carving, which is free of any apparent chips or scratches. Both garnets are intact and securely set.
